SEO & AI search

Get found in Google.
And in ChatGPT.

Practical SEO that drives real traffic — technical foundations, schema markup, content built for AI extraction. Now optimising for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. One-off audits from €350, retainer from €99 / month.

What this service is

SEO at WebSilm is the practical work of getting a small business found by people who are actively looking for what it sells — in classical Google search, in AI-powered search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude with web), and in local search for Estonian and EU markets. We focus on the durable basics — technical foundations, schema markup, content structured for both humans and AI extraction, and honest measurement — rather than the tricks that work for three months and then get penalised.

No keyword stuffing. No private blog networks. No 50-page dashboards full of vanity metrics. Just: a technically sound site, content people and AI both want to cite, and a monthly report you can read in 10 minutes.

Who it's for

You're the right fit if …

I.

You're invisible in search

Your site has been live for months but you don't show up for the queries customers actually use. We start with an audit, identify the 5–10 things blocking visibility, and fix them in priority order.

II.

You serve the Estonian market

Estonian SEO has its own keyword landscape, its own SERP, its own local-trust signals (Äriregister, Inforegister, .ee domain). We've optimised for it on our own .ee site — we know what works.

III.

You want to show up in ChatGPT & Perplexity

AI search is where your future customers will increasingly start. Different optimisation than classical SEO: extractable answers, FAQ schema, comparison tables, author entities. We do this work specifically — it is not an add-on.

What you get

Concrete SEO work, measurable outcomes.

01
Technical SEO audit & fixes
Crawlability, indexability, broken links, redirect chains, canonical tags, hreflang for multilingual sites, robots.txt, sitemap.xml. Fixed, not just reported.
02
Schema markup implementation
Organization, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage, Article, Service, Product, Review — whichever apply to your business. Validated against Google Rich Results Test before deploy.
03
On-page optimisation
Per-page title and meta description rewrites, H1/H2 hierarchy review, internal linking, image alt text, URL structure. Targeted at the keywords your audience actually searches.
04
AI search optimisation
Content restructured for ChatGPT / Perplexity / Google AI Overviews extraction: questions as H2s, 50-word direct answers, FAQ schema, comparison tables in HTML, Person author bios, GPTBot / ClaudeBot / PerplexityBot allow-list.
05
Core Web Vitals fixes
Real performance work — image format conversion (WebP / AVIF), font loading, render-blocking JavaScript removal, lazy loading, Cloudflare cache rules. Targets: LCP < 2.5s, CLS < 0.1, INP < 200ms.
06
Local SEO & Google Business Profile
GBP setup or audit, NAP consistency across directories (Äriregister, Inforegister, ee.ee, Goodfirms, Clutch), local schema, review acquisition strategy. For Estonian businesses we know the directories that matter.
07
Keyword research & tracking
20–30 priority keywords identified per language, tracked monthly via Ahrefs / SerpRobot / Mangools. We focus on commercial-intent long-tail before head terms — measurable wins in 4–8 weeks.
08
Monthly written report
Rankings, traffic from Search Console, Core Web Vitals trend, what we did this month, what's next, risks spotted. Written to be read in 10 minutes — no dashboard theatre.
Tools & tactics

What we use — and what we refuse to use.

We use
Google Search Console Bing Webmaster Tools Ahrefs SerpRobot Schema.org Validator Rich Results Test PageSpeed Insights Lighthouse Plausible Screaming Frog

Real tools used the way Google itself recommends. Search Console is the source of truth for everything ranking-related; PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse for performance; Schema validators to confirm rich-result eligibility before any change ships.

We refuse to use
Private blog networks Keyword stuffing Cloaking AI-generated bulk content Doorway pages Paid backlinks Hidden text Comment spam

Black-hat tactics that work for 3 months, then trigger a manual action that takes 6 months to recover from — if recovery is possible at all. We've seen too many small businesses lose years of work this way. We will not do this for you, even if you ask.

SEO questions

What people ask before hiring an SEO.

Honest answers — including the questions where the honest answer is uncomfortable.

How long does SEO take to actually show results?
Realistic timeline for a small business: long-tail keywords start ranking in 4–8 weeks, page-one positions for moderate-competition terms in 3–6 months, and competitive head terms (like 'web development Estonia') take 9–18 months — if they happen at all. Anyone promising page-one rankings in 30 days is either lying or using black-hat tactics that will get the site penalised. We share monthly progress with clients so you can see the curve build, not just the endpoint.
Can you guarantee top rankings?
No, and you should distrust anyone who does. Google's algorithm has 200+ ranking factors and changes weekly. What we can guarantee: a technically sound site that meets every published Google quality guideline, content structured for both human readers and AI extraction, monthly progress reports with real data, and the long-term compounding effect of doing the basics right. That combination beats most agencies' fancy tactics over a 12-month horizon.
What's included in your monthly SEO retainer?
Each month: technical audit pass (broken links, schema validation, Core Web Vitals check), keyword tracking for 20–30 target terms, on-page optimisation of 2–3 pages, monthly content brief or update for one new piece, internal linking review, Google Business Profile maintenance for local clients, and a written report you can read in 10 minutes. From €99/month for a small site, scaling with site size and goals. No annual lock-in — month-to-month.
Do you do SEO for both Estonian and international markets?
Yes. We optimise Estonian sites for terms like 'kodulehe tegemine' or 'veebiarendus Tartu' against the local Estonian-language SERP, and the same brand's international site for English-language terms targeted at the EU market. Different keyword research per market, different content per language, hreflang correctly set so Google indexes each version under its own domain. We've handled this on websilm.ee / websilm.com itself — we use our own site as the demo.
Can you optimise content for ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI search?
Yes — this is one of our actual specialities. AI search engines (ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude with web search) cite content differently from classical Google. We structure content for AI extraction: questions as H2 headings with direct 50-word answers below, comparison tables in real HTML (not screenshots), FAQPage schema on every page where it fits, Article schema with Person author bios, and clear entity definitions. We also configure robots.txt to explicitly allow GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, OAI-SearchBot, and Google-Extended.
How is this different from a €19/month 'SEO tool' subscription?
Tools like Surfer, Frase, or SEMrush are great if you already know what you are doing — they tell you what to do but not whether you should. Our retainer is a person who reads your site every month, looks at the data, decides which 2–3 things matter most this month, and does them. We use the same tools (Ahrefs, Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Schema validator) plus actual judgement. Think of us as a fractional SEO who happens to also write the code.
Do you offer one-off SEO audits?
Yes. A complete one-off audit is €350 and covers: technical issues (crawlability, schema, sitemap, hreflang, canonicals), Core Web Vitals on every important page, on-page issues for the top 10 pages, keyword opportunity analysis, competitor gap report, and a prioritised 90-day action plan you can hand to anyone (us, an in-house team, or a different agency). About a fifth of audit clients later move to the monthly retainer; the rest take the action plan and execute internally. Either path is fine.
How do you measure success and report progress?
Monthly written report covering: rankings for tracked keywords (with last month's comparison), organic traffic from Search Console (impressions, clicks, average position), Core Web Vitals trend, conversions if you have a goal set up, what we did this month, what we're doing next month, and any risks we spotted. We write reports to be read in 10 minutes — no 40-page PDFs full of dashboards. Plus access to the rank-tracking tool so you can check whenever you want.
